As the 2007 President of Delta Society of San Antonio, I would like to thank the immediate past President and Board of Directors for all their long hours and hard work given to Delta Society of San Antonio over the past two years. I would also like to welcome the 2007 Board of Directors.
The Board of Directors hopes to add some extra fun to Delta San Antonio this year, by having Animal Crackers in the spring (April 1st) and leaving The Blessing of the Animals in the fall (date not yet confirmed). Followed by our Annual Meeting in November (date to be confirmed). Special Events Chair Laurie Anderson will be happy to hear from anyone wanting to volunteer at these events.
Mary Ann Richey, the 2007 Vice President, and Publicity Chair, plans to call many of the people on the volunteer list to tap any "hidden talents” any of you may have. Do you like to dabble on the computer with pictures, data, or web page? Do you make or know someone that makes caps or lap blankets for Chemo- therapy patients? The Board of Directors is comprised of 100% volunteers. Please check the list, and ask yourself where you may be able to help. We always need help, from Presentations and Public Speaking, Phone Committee to answering the phone lines (the first contact most of us had with Delta San Antonio) to Special Events such as picnics and dog shows. Do you have time on a Saturday to help with Evaluations (a fun way to meet old and new teams)? Just leave a message on mail@deltasa.org or call 210-614-6734.
Be sure to save some energy for the 2007 Pooch Parade. This is our only fund raiser for the year. If you are not able to work the day of the Parade, you may always help with preparation before. Not an early riser on Saturdays? That’s fine. You can come help with packing up. We usually are done at the warehouse, and delivering the rental truck by one p.m.
